    I Started Out as An Avid Learner ...

    At a very young age, learning represented opportunity for me.
        
    If I wanted to do something, I had to know how to do it.
    If I didn't know how, I wasn't asked to help or participate.
        
    I didn't want to miss out …

     

    So I started to watch how people did things and practiced.
        
    Over the years, I continued to perfect my ability to learn quickly and easily.
        
    I became the 'Go To' person if someone wanted to

    • learn how to do something
    • or get things done quicker than ever before

    The Learner Becomes a Teacher

    I used all of the skills that I had acquired as a learner, honed my skills even further and created my own teaching style.
        
    It was very important to me to foster the following beliefs in my students because learning had made such an impact on my life:

    • Learning = Fun
    • Learning = Opportunity
    • Mistakes = Opportunities to learn and grow

     

    There are no dumb questions. Questions represent opportunities to learn more or see things from a different perspective.
        
    To instill these beliefs, I continually created a learning environment of:

    • Fun
    • Excitement
    • Patience
    • Passion for what I was teaching

    It was like working on a puzzle - figuring out how all of the pieces of an application fit together and determining the roadmap of that application.

     

    I have had the privilege of determining the best way to teach my students, while keeping my beliefs about learning in mind.

     

    I quickly became the 'Go To' Instructor for my students. My unique teaching style encouraged my students to register for my upcoming classes.

     

    My greatest joy was seeing the results that my student's achieved. It was absolutely amazing what they came up with.

    I have been in charge of:

    • Learning the new application / process
    • Determining the roadmap for the best most efficient way to use the new application
    • Configuring the application, to refining processes so that it had a logical, strategic flow and ensuring it met project objectives and accounted for organization change requirements.

    I have also setup applications based on the specific needs of my Clients in order to save them time, provide them with a clear picture (ability to view their work from multiple perspectives), and decrease costs:
        

    • Weather Patterns to Budget Calculations - Used Excel to determine
      • the prime location to place wind turbines
      • budgets per year for hardware upgrades for each school and administrative center
    • Asset and Project Tracking - Used SharePoint Lists to
      • track the number and priority of outstanding fixes during a software deployment
      • organize data migration activities and data for staff members
      • capture project improvement requests and handle the approval workflow
    • Used Microsoft Project and  Mindjet Mindmanager to plan the deployment of software / processes
